Becky G looked ready to walk down the aisle at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards. On March 1, one day before celebrating her 26th birthday, the “MAMII” singer walked the red carpet in a sheer black minidress by Nicolas Jebran. The bride-to-be, who announced her engagement to fiancé Sebastian Lletget in December, paired the see-through ensemble with an ombré veil in black and midnight blue. Short of carrying a black bouquet of roses, she looked like a Tim Burton-inspired bride come to life.
“I’m still kind of like in that cloud nine of it all.”
The black-and-blue corset dress featured a see-through base layered with panels of mesh embellished with crystals. The bust was lined with lace trim and the bustier featured a row of crystal buttons that cut straight down to the velvet detailing on her skirt. The vine-like design provided some coverage from behind, curving from her mid-back to her mid-thigh. She styled the minidress with a blue veil trimmed in black lace. Composed of three rows of crystal-embellished headbands, the crown of the veil tied the entire ensemble together.
When asked why she chose to step out in the sultry bridal look, Becky G, who was the evening’s Music Impact honoree, told Entertainment Tonight, “Why not? I mean honestly, this was a piece, this dress, when I put it on. I was like, ‘Wow, this feels great!’ Once I gave it my own twist and I Beckified, it [really] felt right.”
Stylist Morgan Pinney completed Becky G’s outfit with sky-high platform sandals. Pinney also adorned the star with jewelry in sapphire and silver by Dena Kemp, Grace Lee, and Stéfère. On her ears, Becky G wore a curled pair of vertical drop earrings, which beautifully complemented her silver nose ring and layered cross necklace. Even surrounded by stacked statement rings, her engagement ring — a solitaire oval-cut diamond sitting on a gold band — glistened against her “rich girl” nails as she posed for the cameras.
Becky G and Lletget first started dating in 2016. Following news of their engagement, the two have been enjoying life as fiancés and are in no rush to walk down the aisle. “I really want to enjoy being engaged,” she said to ET, adding that both she and Lletget, an FC Dallas soccer player, are busy with their careers. “Because it happened and I really genuinely didn’t know — everyone was like, ‘You knew this was coming!’ I was like, ‘I swear to God, I had no idea!’ So I’m still kind of like in that cloud nine of it all.”
The finished look was reminiscent of one of Kourtney Kardashian’s many bridal dresses during her international wedding circuit. While it doesn’t seem like Becky G has settled on an official wedding dress for the big day, we can’t wait to see what other pre-wedding looks the star has in her wardrobe.
